About the Field

A little information

We have a grass runway 700' in length and 60' in width that is mowed every week to a height that makes it usable by all aircraft except those with small wheels. We perform maintenance on it in the fall when we can expect rain for the fertilizer and/or seed. The approaches are long and you can setup on final with no obstructions. Roll out is long and smooth with the flight stations being located in the middle of the runway.

The runway is situated in about 10 acres of hay that the landowner harvests several times a year, thereby keeping it relatively short. This makes it easier to find "parts" should they become "loose" when flying. There are 3 large shade structures with one of them housing a charging station. We power the charging station with a generator since the cost to install electricity to the remote area is prohibitive.

Subset of Rules

  • Must have current AMA license (no Park Flyer license)

  • Wind direction determines flight patterns

  • Limit to maximum of 6 pilots flying at one time

  • Larger aircraft demain priority flght status in the air

  • Over communicate when on the flight line to let everyone know your intentions

In addition to a wide-open space to fly we have many work tables and starting stations.
